Here’s a look at some of the players in the expanding niche of non-traditional meeting spaces.

They’re offering everything that you need for important internal or client-facing events – the space itself, flexible & comfortable furniture, state-of-the-art technology, gourmet cuisine, and additional support staff. Meet in Place

Meet in Place is a network of boutique meeting locations in NYC, London and Tel Aviv. It’s a use-as-you-need service with no monthly subscriptions or long-term commitments, and lower rates after 7:00pm. Meeting rooms are available 16 hours a day and can be booked for a one-hour minimum or several days. Room types range in size from small salons to grand conference rooms and users can get discounts based on spending and also allow a bank of hours to be shared within a company. Their customers are typically international companies looking to conduct offsite meetings, creative brainstorming sessions, and quarterly business reviews or sales trainings.

Serendipity Labs

Serendipity Labs is a national franchise operation offering memberships for upscale, flexible office spaces at locations across the US. Their network has over 125 locations in office buildings, high-rise residential projects, hotels and retail properties. Membership plans range from full-time to occasional drop-in plans. On-site hospitality teams make guests feel welcomed to meetings and corporate events by orienting guests to the space, the technology and even delivering snacks or drinks.


Bizly is the next-generation platform for meetings and events built with the end users in mind. The online marketplace makes it easy for employees to book events at hotels, restaurants that are already existing partners and apply previously-negotiated rates. Bizly software allows you to easily create a team structure to simplify and automate the approvals process by designating administrators, approvers, and meeting planners. Additional features streamline legal reviews and data reporting that measures your event’s true spend and savings.


ServCorp is a giant in the virtual office, meeting room and co-working space. Founded in Sydney, Australia, ServCorp has worldwide coverage with 160+ locations in 23 countries. Their model is ‘pay as you go’ meeting spaces available in purpose-built meeting rooms and boardrooms for 2 to 14 people. They place a premium on five-star real estate and interior design with top-quality amenities and spectacular views. Their spaces also provide cutting-edge A/V, technology and video conferencing facilities with high broadband speeds and IT support when you need it. Flexible booking arrangements allow you to reserve a brief 10-minute appointment or a multi-day event.

Many companies are now looking at ways to help introduce these unique venues to the stakeholders who run their SMM programs. Currently all use mobile apps to showcase their venues. We are hoping to see some form of integration of the content of these unique venues into SMM tools either via API feeds to SMM tools or booking pages embedded in the SMM solutions. Many large companies already have high utilization of these types of solutions and we’ll certainly see more adoption in the near future. Exciting times for sure.
